Speak Up

Speak up when someone says or does something that minimizes a woman’s impact, voice or worth through sexist behavior.

NOMINATE

Nominate lay women to serve in positions traditionally held by men like the Chair of Trustees, Chair of Finance, or Chair of Staff Parish Relations.

INVITE

Invite women to pulpit swap in churches that have male pastoral leadership.

CELEBRATE

Celebrate women’s ordination and lay women’s leadership through regular speaking roles in worship and Sunday’s dedicated to their leadership.

INCLUDE

Include women in taking up the offering, passing out bulletins and being ushers.

Encourage your local congregation to do a salary study of your staff to make sure you don’t have unconscious or unintentional bias in compensation.
