A few facts and statistics indicating the status of women in the U.S. United Methodist Church:

• 13% of all ordained elders are women
• 13% of all ordained women in pastoral ministry are racial ethnic clergywomen
• Clergywomen with same number of years experience as men and with the
  same type of appointment make 9% less than their male counterparts.
• 15% of district superintendents are women
• 8% of all bishops, active and retired, are women
• 2% of clergy serving as lead pastors of churches of 1,000 members or more are women
