Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, Dallas. Interest and ability in interpreting the Old/Testament/Hebrew Bible in its theological, cultural, literary, and historical dimension is essential. This is a full-time, tenured or tenure-track appointment, at the associate or assistant level. The appointee will teach courses in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible in the various degree programs of Perkins School of Theology, and will also teach M.A. and Ph.D. students in the Graduate Program in Religious Studies of Dedman College. Commitment to a faith community and the ability to address feminist, postcolonial, and/or other contemporary approaches in Biblical studies are desirable. Position begins in the fall term, 2008. Scholarly competence in general Church History, fluency in a spoken language other English, and lived experience with global Christian communities in inter-cultural or ecumenical settings. The appointee will teach courses in Global Christianity, Mission Studies, general Church History, and immersion courses in the Global Theological Education Program in the various degree programs of Perkins School of Theology, and will also teach M.A. and Ph.D. students in the Graduate Program in Religious Studies of Dedman College.
